Connected premises. Dependable systems.

Business networks, structured cabling, fibre optics and Wi-Fi, with servers, NAS storage and backups planned around your people and premises.

Plan before pulling cables

Business network installation starts with your premises, connected equipment and the work the network must support. We discuss existing faults, coverage gaps, capacity and future changes, then agree a suitable design and installation scope.

Consultancy is always free of charge. Surveys requiring chargeable technical work, installation, equipment and support are scoped separately. Onsite projects are arranged in Peterborough and surrounding areas; confirm your location with us.

Structured cabling and fibre

We provide structured data cabling and fibre optic installation for suitable business environments. The plan considers cable routes, outlets, patch panels, equipment locations and connections between areas of your premises.

We agree the cable specification, access arrangements, labelling and testing needed for the job. Building permissions, specialist work and any disruption are reviewed before installation, so the finished network is documented and easier to maintain.

Wi-Fi where your team needs it

Business Wi-Fi installation should account for the building, users and devices, not just the advertised range of an access point. We assess placement, coverage requirements and available wired connections to plan a practical wireless setup.

We can separate guest access from business systems, configure suitable access controls and investigate weak coverage or unreliable roaming. Performance depends on the site conditions, equipment and internet connection; we test against the agreed requirements.

Servers and shared storage

We help select and configure servers and network-attached storage, or NAS, for shared files and suitable business applications. Planning covers storage capacity, user permissions, remote access needs and how the systems will be maintained.

Cloud, onsite and mixed setups each have trade-offs. We explain these around your workload and budget, with clear account ownership and documentation. NAS and mirrored disks alone are not a complete backup strategy.

Backups you can recover from

Our NAS and server backup solutions consider what must be protected, how often it changes and how quickly you need it restored. We plan suitable copies, access controls, retention and recovery procedures across supported systems.

Successful backup jobs are only part of the picture. We can agree restore tests and maintenance responsibilities. Read our backup restore testing guide for the questions a recovery exercise should answer.

A useful handover and next step

We document the agreed network layout, equipment, access responsibilities and work completed. Changes to a working environment are coordinated with you, including any planned downtime and checks before staff return to normal work.

For ongoing monitoring and maintenance, explore managed IT services. Security improvements are covered by our business cyber security support; new premises and launch projects can form part of startup IT setup.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Let’s clear a few things up.

Need something more specific?
We’re happy to help.

Do you install network cables and fibre optics?

Yes. We can scope structured data cabling and fibre optic installation for business premises, including routes, connection points, labelling and appropriate testing. Access permissions, specification and any specialist requirements are agreed before work starts.

Can you improve unreliable office Wi-Fi?

We can assess coverage, access point placement, connected devices and wired infrastructure, then plan and test suitable improvements. Building layout, interference, equipment and the internet connection all affect the result.

Can you set up NAS storage, servers and backups?

Yes. We can assess suitable storage and server systems, configure access and plan backups with agreed recovery checks. A NAS or mirrored disks should not be treated as the only copy of important data.

Where do you carry out installation work?

Onsite work is arranged in Peterborough and surrounding areas. Contact us with your location and project requirements to confirm availability and scope. Suitable advice, configuration and support can also be provided remotely across the UK.

Is your IT consultancy free of charge?

Yes. KByte consultancy is always free of charge, not just the first conversation. Implementation, installation, development, equipment, third-party subscriptions and ongoing support are quoted or agreed separately before paid work begins.
