What’s included
Cookie consent for your WordPress website
KByte Cookie Consent adds a mobile-friendly cookie banner, category preferences and configurable service blocking to WordPress. Buy version 1.2.1 for £24.95 as an installable ZIP download. The plugin requires no subscription or external scanner account.
Give visitors clear options to accept, reject or customise optional cookies. Necessary services remain enabled; analytics, marketing and functional categories start off until accepted. Visitors can reopen their preferences and withdraw consent.
Match your website design
Colours, fonts and text size inherit your theme by default. Choose custom colours, an existing font stack or a 14–22 px text size when you need a different appearance. Configure panel and button borders, corner radius, spacing, width and banner position.
Add separate privacy-policy and cookie-policy links with editable labels. Seven settings tabs organise banner behaviour, design, categories, service rules, auto-detection, data and integrations.
Detect cookies and review services
Run a public-page scan of up to five same-origin URLs, or schedule daily or weekly scans using WordPress cron. The scanner inspects public HTML, response cookie names and external resource hostnames. An authenticated administrator can also observe browser-readable cookie names and resource hosts.
Built-in recognition covers services including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps and reCAPTCHA. Review findings before adding or enabling rules; scans do not silently change your configuration.
Server scans do not execute JavaScript. Browser observation cannot see HttpOnly cookies or third-party cookie stores. Detection is a review aid, not proof that every cookie or tracker has been found.
Control supported tracking and consent signals
Configured rules defer matching scripts and iframes until their required categories are accepted. The plugin handles supported server-rendered tags and common dynamic insertion methods. You can add service names, category requirements, URL fragments, inline-code patterns and cookie-name patterns.
Optional Google Consent Mode v2 uses basic mode: recognised Google tags wait for permission. Analytics-only consent leaves advertising signals denied. An optional Global Privacy Control setting keeps marketing off when that browser signal is present.
This is not a Google-certified consent management platform and does not implement IAB TCF. It cannot block every arbitrary tracking request, proprietary loader or server-side tracker. Check your actual plugins, tag containers, forms and network activity after configuration.
Remember choices for a session or up to 365 days
Set the consent duration to 1–365 days, or choose 0 for a browser-session cookie. Session mode remembers the choice while visitors browse the site and does not retain the choice in localStorage. A new browser session asks again; browsers that restore session cookies can also restore that choice. Returning within the same browser session does not automatically show the banner again.
Increase the consent revision when a material change requires a fresh choice. Withdrawal updates supported consent signals, attempts to remove accessible matching cookies and reloads the page.

Configuration and support
Use one consent solution at a time and test after changing your theme, caching, tracking or form plugins. A cookie-name rule alone cannot prevent code from creating cookies. The plugin supplies consent controls, not legal advice or a guarantee of compliance; you remain responsible for the services and policy used on your website. It does not provide an IP-based consent log or proof-of-consent archive.

Frequently asked questions
How much does KByte Cookie Consent cost?
The version 1.2.1 plugin download costs £24.95. The supplied plugin requires no subscription or external scanner account. Installation and additional service work are separate.
Can the plugin detect Google Analytics and other cookies?
It recognises configured providers such as Google Analytics and reviews public-page HTML, cookie names and resource hosts. Server scans do not execute JavaScript, and browser observation cannot read HttpOnly or third-party cookie stores. Review findings; detection is not exhaustive.
Does the banner inherit my theme colours and fonts?
Yes. Colours, font family and text size inherit the theme by default. You can switch to custom colours, a font stack already available on your site and a custom text size, and adjust panel and button borders.
Can I link to my privacy policy?
Yes. Configure separate privacy-policy and cookie-policy URLs and labels. Both can appear in the banner and preferences panel; blank URLs hide the corresponding links.
What does a consent duration of 0 mean?
Zero uses a browser-session cookie, so the choice remains while browsing the site. A new browser session asks again, although browser session-restoration features may restore the cookie. It is not an inactivity timer or a prompt on every visit within the same session.
Does it support Google Consent Mode v2?
It provides optional basic-mode Consent Mode v2 signals for supported Google tags. Recognised tags wait for the required categories; analytics-only consent leaves advertising denied. It is not a Google-certified CMP and does not implement IAB TCF.
Will installing the plugin make my website legally compliant?
The plugin does not guarantee legal compliance. Configure it for the services you actually use, review detection results, test tracking and consent withdrawal, and maintain an accurate privacy and cookie policy.
How do I install the download?
In WordPress, open Plugins, Add New and Upload Plugin. Upload the version 1.2.1 ZIP, activate it and configure Settings → Cookie Consent. WordPress 6.6+ and PHP 8.1+ are required. Clear caches and test the banner, tracking and forms.
